The Research Proposal Writing Competition for School Students in Central Province - 2023 / 2024

Living in the era of Science, each and every activity of our everyday routine has something to do with Science. But, are we literate enough on the dimensions of science? Improving scientific literacy among the general public has become a timely need. To fill this overlooked gap, we have organized this Writing Competition on Science. This competition is open to anyone including the school children starting from 9 th grade. There is something scientific on everything around us. If you are curious enough to figure them out and put it in to words in a scientific manner, now it’s your time to share your thoughts and become a winner.

    The Proposal Writing Competition provides a platform for all the students (science based any stream) who are enthusiasts to showcase their talent by articulating their thoughts on the ongoing practices in Identify the current global issues, Use of scientific method in finding solutions to global issues, World famous characters who inspired the universe, Greatest inventions in the world, Evolution of science and the present and Negative outcomes arise with the improvement of science.

    Kindly follow the guidelines given below:

    • One proposal can have only one author.
    • Your proposal should contain 1000-1500 words.
    • Proposals in English languages are welcome.
    • Each person can submit a maximum of one proposal.
    • For Proposal writing in English font should be “TIMES NEW ROMAN” with font size of “12”
    • Participants can refer other sources but copy write material should be avoid.
    • The proposal should be original work and references must be cited wherever necessary.
    • Plagiarism of more than 10% is unacceptable and will subject to disqualification from the competition.
    • Kindly Rename your file as “Your-Registration-Number_Your-Name”
      (Ex: BTC20230001_T.M.C.B. Tennekoon)
    • You must submit your proposal to us after completing the documents those we have provided. The proposal must be certified by your class teacher and the principal of your school.
    • You must submit the soft copy of the proposal along with a scanned image of the certified document.
    • Online submission only. Proposal must be submitted through the official website for Centre for Research, National Hospital, Kandy. Please Upload your proposals in “.doc/.docx or pdf” format. Please log in to this website follow the guidelines.
